About me
I am an Orthodox Christian, a wife, a mother of six children, a dutiful daughter, a loving sister, and a friend. I am also a part time math teacher. I'm a graduate of New Mexico Tech and Notre Dame. I love to write, and take care of my busy household. I am the author of Syra's Scribbles and Syra's Scribbles II: Give Thanks Unto The Lord.
Family
Mike is my husband. We've been married for twenty three years. He is the most thoughtful, kind person I know. He works for a biotech company in San Diego but mostly works from home.
At nineteen years old, Esther is my first adult child. She is mostly known by her many accomplishments. She's an excellent mathematician, writer and singer. She published a novel called "The Legend of Dreamland" and is working on a couple more books. Her newest book "Doubt Thou" is out. Check out the link to her book's website. She moved to California for college!
Basil is a teenager. Fourteen has brought a lot of maturinty. He still has a great sense of humor. He loves minecraft.
Jonah is ten years old and is entering sixth grade. He is the sweetest most friendly boy you could meet. He loves everybody.
Xenia is nine years old. We pronounce the X like the ks in FOX. Her nickname is the Russian diminutive Susha. She's so smart. She's always been very small for her age, but she has no trouble dominating playtime with her brothers. She is entering fourth grade this year.
Justin is seven years old. He is going into second grade.
Eastern Orthodoxy
Ancient Faith Radio is an Eastern Orthodox radio station which is an excellent resource for anyone wanting to learn more.
Another good resource is the webpage for the Orthodox Church in America.
This is a nine minute YouTube video of an explanation of the differences of the view of salvation between Orthodoxy and Protestant Christianity demonstrated with folding chairs. You can't go too deep on YouTube, but I liked it.
